Job Requirements:
The Business Administration Programme at Faculty of Business, Economic and Policy Studies, UBD invites applications for the above position from suitably qualified candidates.

Applicants should have a PhD degree in Management/Decision Sciences or in a related field from a recognized university, and a satisfactory research, publication and consultancy record. Postgraduate teaching experience will be preferred. Familiarity with international business issues and dynamics especially in the Asia Pacific region, and an ability to teach other functional areas in management would be an added advantage.

The successful applicant should be able to design and teach courses in the areas of Quality Management, Business and Logistic Management, Production and Operations Management and Project Management courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Active participation in the activities of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Policy Studies is also expected.

Lecturer

Minimum MA/M.Ed./M.Sc. with at least 3 years relevant teaching experience in tertiary teaching and research. Preference will be given to a candidate with PhD qualification in their respective field.

Senior Lecturer

Normally a PhD. with at least 5 years relevant experience and a proven record in teaching, research and administration.

Associate Professor

Candidates should already be holding the post of Senior Lecturer with at least 5 years relevant experience and a proven record in teaching, research and administration.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

1. The appointment will be on a permanent basis for citizens of Brunei Darussalam. For non-citizens, appointment will be by contract for a period of three years which is renewable subject to mutual agreement.

2. The base annual salary range is as follows:-
Lecturer : B$ 33,720- B$ 50,880
Special Efficiency Bar (SEB) B$ 52,320 – B$ 58,080
Senior Lecturer : B$ 55,200- B$ 62,400 SEB B$ 63,600
Associate Professor : B$ 64,800 SEB B$ 67,320
Professor : B$ 70,800 SEB B$ 73,320

3. Academic Allowance
Lecturer (without PhD) : B$ 300.00 per month
Lecturer (with PhD) : B$ 500.00 per month
Senior Lecturer : B$ 600.00 per month
Associate Professor : B$ 800.00 per month
Professor : B$ 1,000.00 per month

4. a) Bonus [1 month salary for Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, ½ month salary for Associate Professor/Professor] after each 12 months of satisfactory service.
b) Gratuity [25% of last drawn monthly salary x 36 months at the end of the contract].

5. Other benefits:
a) Education allowance and children’s concession passage.
b) Subsidized housing [staff contribute B$130 per month].
c) Free medical and dental services at government hospitals.
d) Interest- free car loan.
e) Annual leave of 48 days.
f) Passage and removal allowance.
g) At present there is no personal income tax in Brunei Darussalam

6. The appointee will contribute to the University and Faculty’s research activities through available public and private funding, including start-up grants for all new staff.
