Job Responsibilities:
* Provide necessary support to the staff in DRR department in planning and implementing programmes and projects and in preparing reports, presentations, etc;
* Assist in arranging logistics and necessary preparations for field missions and assessments including travel, budget, information gathering, contacting the local partners;
* Research and collect information required on disaster issues from international, national and local agencies sources and disseminate information when requested;
* Participate in School Preparedness Programme and Community-based DRR activities as trainers and speakers;
* Attend missions if requested both in Malaysia and overseas;
* Provide administrative and logistical support to events (meetings, trainings, conferences, workshops, etc) related to disaster issues;
* Participate in the DRR activities in Malaysia and provide necessary support including Asian Disaster Reduction and Response Network;
* Prepare minutes of meetings when required;
* Perform other duties as required;
* Cover and follow up on tasks of other staff in DRR department when they are away from office.
Job Requirements:
* Minimum Diploma qualification
* Strong existing computer skills with Microsoft Office.
* Experience in literature searching including websites, libraries and other media.
* Must be able to work independently and under minimum supervision.
* Good interpersonal skill and ability to work in a team.
* Strong spoken and written communication skills both in Bahasa Malaysia & English.
