Job Responsibilities:
# Promote prompt payment
# Reduce outstanding debts to a minimum
# Achieve progressive improvement in “debtor days” and reducing “percentage of 90 days and over” outstanding
# Achieve Budgeted Debtors Day for the branches
# Maintain customer goodwill and customer retention
# Minimise the cost the Division (including bad debt expense and bad debt provisions) of selling on credit terms.
# Make available additional cash for business investment opportunities
Job Requirements:
* Responsible for collection for ASSIGNED branch
* Liaise closely with branch manager, BAS and AM/AE to solve problems relating to payment issues.
* Telephone all customers who have not paid their account by the due date, maintain record of contact (including date, action, commitments) in the system (Navision CC Log) and follow through to ensure correction of any problems and prompt collection of outstanding debts.
* Updating the Credit Control activity log after each telephone conversation (in Navision).
* Monitor prompt issuance of reminder letters and statement according to company credit control policy.
* Processing of cash/cheques deposits for daily banking. Ensure all current cheques are banked into the assigned bank account and monitor post dated cheque due date.
* Review & propose credit notes and propose stop service for delinquent customers, monitor prompt Finance Manager, Branch Manager and Credit Control Assistant Manager approval and processing by Branch Administrator.
* Monitor and reinforce procedures such as authorisation limit through request for approval for higher limit (existing customer) and request for extending credit terms of 30 days.
* Handle arrangements/activities of collection agents or lawyer’s office on delinquent accounts. Ensure relevant documents are in order for litigation cases.
* Prepare documents for bad debts write-offs and lodge claims/proof of debts against liquidators/receivers.
* Prepare reports/returns on debtors and collections.
* Review collection activities and status of outstanding with Finance Manager/Branch Manager on a weekly basis.
* Achieve the KPI benchmark set by the Company
