Job Responsibilities:
The Programme Assistant will assist in managing the network resources and this involves:
# Keep an inventory of available saplings and assist in selecting appropriate trees for sites.
# Plan, coordinate and provide technical back stopping to community nurseries for the
# supply saplings
# Educate and assistance the public in tree planting and tree care.
# Ensure timely supply of saplings for the project.
Job Requirements:
# Possess at least a degree in Horticulture Science, Agriculture, botany or related
# discipline
# Ability to work well with people
# Clear concise report writer
# Must have passion or care for the environment
# Experience in tree planting and care
# Good command and communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English, both written and oral; having knowledge in other languages is an advantage
# Basic skill in Computer usage
# Must have own transport.
The incumbent must have courtesy, tact and ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Salaries and Benefits: This is a locally recruited position and Bioversity offers an attractive remuneration package including a competitive monthly salary, medical insurance and generous leave provisions. Initial contract will be for a period of one year.
